God Is [Someone Needs This Gentle Reminder]

Image
Isolation is never the answer when you’re going through tribulation... God IS up to something good, despite how bad things may look and/or feel. Ask Him to have the Holy Spirit invade your territory to help you through it, as well as send those to pray with and for you, for growth in spiritual maturity during your walk. Psalm 73:28 says:  But it is good for me to draw near to God. I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare thy works!  You see, it's in this trying time (it being whatever circumstance you are facing now, that the enemy is trying to distract & derail you from), that you'll need to not worry about what you 'may' be able to do, but focus on what God IS able to bring you through! Sometimes, you've just got to go through, to get to, what God has for you! Now let me keep it real! At times His presence can feel so strong, & in some moments, it can feel non-existent, but trust me, If you continue to follow & see...

Changing Your Mindset To HIS WILL For You!

Image
Let me try to set the record straight! The context of the scripture Psalm 37:4 --->  *Delight thyself in the Lord & He shall give you the desires of your heart.* Delight yourself IN HIM.... Meaning, become aligned with HIS WILL (not the other way around) & it is there where He Will move in your life in ways you'd never seen. People tend to treat this verse like a genie in a bottle (for a lack of better words), then they become disappointed. But it's because they don't truly understand that God wants us to happily follow and/or want (hence 'delight yourself in the Lord'), what He has in HIS WILL for us ('and He Will give us the desires of our heart'). You can get further confirmation of this in Matthew 6:33 ---> *Seek ye first the Kingdom of God & His righteousness, and all things shall be added unto thee.* Also meaning that YOU MUST rest, trust, depend, lean, on Him if you want to experience all the greatness He has in store for ...

But I Don't Want To.

Image
I want to ask you a question... Have you ever found yourself in a 'But I Don't Want To' position, as it relates to what the Holy Spirit asks you? I don't mind being in this boat by myself, because I want to be honest more than anything. But I'm asking you in case you've been there, are there now, or if you get there, then I've done the leg work & can save you some time 😉. The other day I asked my son why he wasn't using his listening ears in class, and his answer tripped me out! He said, 'But I Don't Want To listen mommy'. I didn't know what to do, but I knew that I was driving, so there wasn't too much I could do, lol. But let me tell you where God will pluck you & make you aware of yourself, if you've allowed Him to invade your territory! I had no immediate response for my three year old son... I had to take a moment. But I eventually told him that it makes mommy & daddy sad when he doesn't use his li...

On His Cue!

Image
I've been known to want to rush my process... I'm sure I'm not alone, in being one who wondered why God was taking so long to move! I knew that I was praying, tithing, giving ( because those are two different things ), reading the word, going to church & often times fasting... Yet He wasn't moving. Does anyone feel what I'm saying, or am I truly alone on this one?! Then time would go by so slow, it seemed... Like slower than molasses pouring out of the jar... And things started to flourish and/or make sense. Sometimes, how I anticipated it... Most times beyond what I expected... However, more times than I can count, not at all how I expected and/or hoped for... But nonetheless, He came through. You see, His time is not our time, as it's referenced in 2 Peter 3:8 - But do not forget this one thing dear friends, a day is like a thousand years... And a thousand years is like a day! If that's not enough, find hope even in Acts 1:7 - He said to them, ...

Pick Up Your Passport To Heaven!

Image
Want to know how to be set free & stay free? Want to know how to handle ANY situation you face? Want to build & nurture a closer relationship with our Heavenly Father? Then start reading your cheat book... The Holy Bible! 😉 It's got ALL the answers on how to handle the tests we face in life.  2 Timothy 3:16-17 states All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent & equipped for every good work.  So I don't care if you open a physical book, or click on the app, Just Do It! (I mean, Just Read It!). You're missing out if you don't.  Matthew 4:4 further confirms But he answered, "It is written, '"Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" Because truth be told - The way you live your life on earth is your ticket into heaven... The Holy Bible Is your passport....

Remember, They Are Only Pebbles!

Image
So, I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only person who has wondered, 'why me'... I'm thinking that I'm also not the only one to say, 'Lord if You do this and/or get me out of this, then I'll do more of this' (you know, bargain with God). Now, I'll go a step further & say, I'm also certain that I'm not the only one who thought, 'okay Lord, You said You wouldn't give me more than I can bare, yet I'm over here: struggling, hurting, ill equipped, unsure, crying, waiting, (fill in your word/feeling here)'.  The first time I saw the above image, I instantly felt thankful & horribly ungrateful all at the same time. I felt like what have I truly done to receive greater, when He constantly keeps me. Am I spending time with Him? Am I seeking His face? Am I walking right & exuding Christ-like mannerisms? Sadly, I couldn't answer yes to those questions for 100% of the time. So I studied the boulders in the pict...

Catch Up! Before Getting Caught Up.

Image
Often times we get so 'caught up' in the hustle & bustle of life, we may: forget to call and/or text someone back, we say we'll schedule a lunch and/or dinner date & then week's go by... We may even tell our self, 'self, we're going to go somewhere or do something relaxing, because life has gotten so busy'.  I don't have enough hands & fingers to count how many times I've done any of the above. I always had good intentions, but the follow-thru wasn't there. Okay, let me take it one step further, and you ( yes, you ) may not like it. Have you ever gotten 'caught up' in either of the following situations: - Saying, 'I need to dwell in the presence of my Heavenly Father more', but don't? - Have you thought to yourself, Lord I'm going to praise You... Right after I tell so and so about what You did for me & then Snapchat, Instagram & Facebook it, so it's real!?  - Have you genuinely forgotten to c...

What Your Response Should Always Be!

Image
True faith exudes from within your soul. Your outlook should always coincide with God's vision.  Worldly disappointments need to diminish quickly when and/if you're governing yourself accordingly.  Wants & desires that are truly your wants should go away.  Why do I reference the above? Because, often times our disappointments linger in our spirit as a result of our own doing. God can move your mountain(s)! There are sayings that even mention that it just takes faith the size of a mustard seed to move a mountain (your circumstance). But what about those unmovable mountains? When you pray, pray & 'claim it', but nothing happens the way you requested... How do you respond spiritually, internally and/or in your actions?  Well, this is What Your Response Should Always Be:  Need confirmation or another response?!:  - What then shall we say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us! - Romans 8:31 So alth...

Mount Up!

Image
Do you ever find yourself wondering, if it's not one thing, then it's another? Do you notice yourself having to rebuke the enemy left & right, then right & left? Are you drawing weary in faith & wondering why you're always dealing with a certain situation, and/or why it's taking God so long to show up & show out? Or, let me guess, the tricks of the enemy continue to gut punch you at the most inopportune times!? Well, since all we can do is trust in & lean on God in our individual matters, all I can tell you to do is ---> Mount Up! God NEVER said following Him would be easy. To the contrary, the word shows several instances where Jesus probably wondered the same above questions! When you find yourself answering yes to any of the above, God knew you'd deal with things, & the encouragement He provides is in Isaiah 40:31 - 'They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They s...

Are You Getting In God's Forever Way?

Image
No really, ask yourself... Say, 'Self - am I getting in God's forever way?'... I bet you either are now, or you have & didn't even realize it.  Let me first start by changing your view on 'forever', because forever is not promised. God never really promises tomorrow... Or I should say the worldly tomorrow you're thinking of. What He promises is His plan for you as it relates to eternity with Him. Some feel that if you're a believer & follower of His word, you're kept today & tomorrow. So then you're invincible to trials & tribulations... Right? Wrong!  You must then ask yourself, 'are you getting in God's forever way here on earth today'? Are you sabotaging the blessings He has for you, and prolonging your current situation(s)... Therefore enduring unnecessary heartache & pain? Maybe. If you can answer yes to either of these: - Are you holding on to bad habits?  - Do you continue to entertain the wron...

You Don't Have To Know How...

Image
You just have to know Who!!! It's that simple.  Is there a particular situation you're in right now that you have no idea how it will begin, play out and/or end? Then you're in good company... As long as you know Who is working behind the scenes, and that there is a 'behind the scenes'. Our Heavenly Father wants us to always remember that He has an ultimate Will that will play out, if we allow Him to move mightily in our lives, understanding that He will get the glory & that it will not always be easy.  In Romans 8:28, it reads - 'And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.' So let's recap, because as a believer in God you will be tested (more times than you can count)! You may not know how your situation will work out, but you don't have to... As long as you know Who, Is in control!                       ~ From your s...

You're In Good Company!

Image
Have you ever felt like you were going through a particular situation on your own? Do you find yourself listening hard for the Lord for direction on what you should or should not do? How many times would you say you went to a friend and expected them to understand what you're feeling and/or where you're coming from, only for them to reference a scripture or tell you what you already know? Can you relate to one or all three of the above & say to yourself, 'self, she must know me, because she's hitting the nail on the head'! Well guess what brother & sisters in Christ, You're In Good Company! I'm a firm believe that if I wasn't going through... If trials & tribulations didn't come knocking at least once a week... If I didn't feel moments of weakness. Then I must not be doing something right! You see, if the enemy had you, he wouldn't have to try so hard to derail you on your walk. If the enemy had you, he wouldn'...

Pausing... It's Necessary!

Image
For 2018 I asked the Lord to help me with patience... Yes, I did. And so far, four months in, I don't regret asking for it. I've realized that whenever I've gone through good times or bad times, there were times where I felt like it was so much time in-between the situation & the breakthrough. However, during my in the mean time between time moments, I often found myself asking God, 'Lord, when is it my time?', 'When do You plan to show up Lord?', or even 'Alright now Lord, can't You see I can't handle this?'. Yet, when I look back on all those times, those periods in my life were nothing more than a pause...  That was definitely necessary! Pausing during your journey is necessary in so many ways. Don't you understand that He's moving behind the scenes?! In Romans 8:28 , it reads - "And we know that all things work together for good for them that love God and have been called according to His purpose".  In analyzing t...

Did You Pray First Though?

Image
So, if you're anything like me, you may think that from time to time, you can handle things on your own. That you need to figure out what steps you'll take from A to Z... Then, you'll try to coordinate a backup plan to your back up plan. Does that sound like you, and/or do you know someone who's going through this stage? I don't think it's abnormal... The stage I think of as being a hamster running on a wheel going NOWHERE! It's just not necessary to go through it. Meaning, you're just adding to your process, which will soon be your testimony, but not until HE handles it. Truth be told, it ( whatever that specifically is for you ) has been handled. He already worked it all out, down to the smallest detail that we're humanly unaware of.  What I've come to ask you is, when you were in that unnecessary stage of trying to manage your situation yourself, 'Did you pray first though?'. I bet you didn't. Or maybe you did that quick ...

... Have Several Seats!

Image
Do you find yourself going over & over in your brain, what you're going to do next? Meaning, are there situations that you're trying to handle, and right when you think that you've either manipulated the situation, and/or figured your situation out, something else brings your stride to a halt?! I can count more times than I'd like to where I was getting in my own way. Where I was 'sabotaging' my own blessings or breakthroughs. I would try to figure out the situation, even though I didn't know everything there was to know about it. Like the inner-workings of the matter, or others that could/would be impacted. Quickly forgetting that everything & everyone around me has to be on beat with His plans! Well when I get like this, I feel like the Lord is telling me to 'Have Several Seats'! I've ran myself rampant trying to do His work. I know you've been there, when you have a Tyler Perry, Medea moment and you want someone "to get go...

The Necessary Storm

Image
Have you ever found yourself up late at night, tossing and turning, trying to figure a certain matter out? Like, you totally knew that you had to hand it over to the Lord, and that's what you very well thought you did... However, when you turned your situation over to the Lord, all hell broke loose. Many tears formed, a plethora of negative thoughts & doubts submerged your mind & spirit. You just couldn't shake it ( it being what you thought was the enemy all along )! If you've not been there, maybe you know someone who's confided in you about their situation with this. Well ladies & gentlemen, I've been there too many times. I was always quick to say, "I rebuke that", "devil, get under my feet", or whatever other old-school baptist sayings I knew. Until I learned that sometimes the chaos you're going through isn't the enemy, but is the Lord prepping you for your next season. It can totally be uncomfortable! And why shouldn...

Blessing Others... A Christ-Like Mannerism!

About a week or so ago, on my way to work… I saw a man standing near a fire, trying to get warm. I had never seen that in this particular area before, so not only was I bothered by it, but I felt bad for him. Well this morning, I saw that same man sitting out in the cold rocking back & forth... But this is not where my story begins. Lately my husband & I have been praying for the Lord to show us how we can help others. Now, I'm not saying that we're 'ballin out' or anything like that. Just like many people, we're budgeting, couponing, clearance rack shopping, checking out Groupon for local fun escapes & even asking our selves "would Dave Ramsey say we could do this?" (lol)... But what we try to remember is that every little blessing God has given us, we need to pay it forward! In Hebrews 13:16 ESV, it reads: "Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God!" Now, knowing that our...

Hold On... Tight!

Image
Often times we're put in situations where we wonder, 'what in the world'! Like seriously, we feel like at one time things were moving swiftly, we were on it & things seemed to be headed in a right direction. Reminding me of a moving walkway in an airport... Helping you to get to your next gate in record time. Then, it's time to get off of that moving walkway, and you feel that gilt... Making what now seemed like gazelle-like speed, become a sudden stop, & back to normal pace. Have you been there, or know someone who's mentioned to you that their in this situation now? Well lately, I've been there... And I've had a few questions. They are as follows: - Why have desires in my heart for something, when I then have to say, 'let Your will be done'? ( don't get me wrong, His will is better, but in that moment, the disappointment doesn't feel so good if you don't get it ). - Why do have to chance wanting something, just to possibly r...

"Shhh... I'm resting!"

Image
Recently I was in a situation, that during the process made me so mad with myself! I mean, I knew right & well that I not only needed to take SEV-Eral seats, but I knew what it was even from a professional standpoint. Yet, I was salty! You see, the processes 'hold' status, to me felt like rejection... Failure... And defeat... As if the enemy had won. But again, I knew all too well what it really was. So eventually I humbly got on my knees & asked for His mercy, by admitting I was wrong. And then I forgave myself, so that I could move on one accord with the process. My friend in Christ, there are times when the process calls for a hold, waiting period, intermission, or whatever you'd call it. This is the behind the scenes stage, where the Lord must (for a lack of better analogy) have us in suspense to test our faith & trust In Him.  Don't get me wrong, the suspense stage is a little tricky... Because during this time your faith in Him, & all He can do, ...

Discussion Time ~ Prayer Before Intimacy...?

Image
What are your feelings on this topic? Would you & your partner try praying together before engaging in an intimate moment, if you haven't already? If you've done it, how did it make you both feel? I challenge you... To t ry it 😊!          ~ From your sister in Christ, SP

Let Him Be In Control!!

Time and time again we try to handle situations on our own... Does that sound familiar? I do it, KNOWING that I need to take several seats. I get in the way.  So with that being said... We have to STOP this cycle & let Him take control!! Brother's & Sister's in Christ have you ever been at a point in your life where you have sleepless nights? Do you try to focus on living your life but all you can think about is what your next move must be in order to stay afloat? Or do you even try to find gimmicks to help in financial situations in your life and it always falls through or is not pleasing in God's eyes? I know I have, on more than one occasion. We must stay in Prayer!! We must continue to Meditate!! We must show praise through Song!! When going through all of life's ups and downs, God said - But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33) . This means that when you seek Him... You al...

Stick To Your Faith!

In life you will be placed in unwanted situations. Situations that you didn't ask to be in. You will wonder: 'Why me'? 'When will it be MY turn'? 'Will I be loved'? 'Will I get that...(job, pay increase or opportunity)'? In all of this we find ourselves wanting more. Grasping for more. But what are we doing in return? You see... God wants more for us as well. Remember that He is a jealous God. ONE who seeks all the praise and glorifying. Yet we want more. But why? Why do we want more?: Is it because we deserve it? =====> Maybe. Is it because we prayed for it? =====> Possibly. Or is it because we worked for it? =====> Could be! If this is what you think... that's wrong. We should never do anything with the want or desire for a blessing to follow. We should constantly do His work and have FAITH that He's got our back. Do everything in His name without a tangible want attached. You have to have FAITH that in your doing ...

One day, you'll understand.

As of late, I have realized that your life may never coincide with anyone else's life around you. I have come to also realize that you must always keep your focus. You may never really understand and that is perfectly fine. There comes a time when you must praise your way through every situation, keep your strength and recognize your God, despite how hard things may be or feel!!! We as humans will make many mistakes. We as humans will not understand what is going on. That too is fine. All we have to do is Trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean NOT unto our own understandings. In all our ways acknowledge Him... & He shall direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). God is not expecting us to understand why he may get us so close to a situation and then take us far away. He is not expecting for us to not wonder why He presents us with opportunities... Then with a snap of a finger, completely redirect our path. But... What He is expecting: - For us to completely tru...

High Demand!!

For a while, I have been going through. I have been trying to understand, realize, listen and learn what it is God is trying to tell me. When a wise woman told me that half the time we tend to ask God questions and demand an answer. Not really understanding, realizing, listening and/or learning that it is all in front of us. Therefore I have to ask you... Is God your 'High Demand'?! By that, I mean... Is that who you go to first for your answers? Do you seek His word? Fellowship with others? Meditate on listening for the sound of His voice? OR are you trying to handle all things on your own, and sabotage the plan He has for you?! Romans 8:31 says: "What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?" When I read this I have to break... it... down.! "What then shall we say to these things?" ~ Why do allow for worldly things and issues to cloud our vision. The older generation of men and woman use to say; ...

Do You Want His All?

Are there times where you feel like God just isn't listening? Do you feel like you are just at the end of what you can take and just ready to throw in the towel? Do you know someone who questions the faith they have in Him? Did you answer yes to any of the above questions or know someone who may? In order to get all you need and want out of God.. He wants your all! Not just a part of you... Not just you on Sunday's & Wednesday's, but ALL of the time. You have to be willing to give yourself to Him. When I say give your all, I mean that you have to be willing to recognize and share with others ALL He has done for you. He wants you to recognize that you need Him. He wants you to preach His gospel by sharing your testimonies and speaking positive words at all times. Remember, our words are our weapons, so be mindful of them. In order to get all you want and need from God, you have to be willing to learn Him. How do you do that you ask? Well I would be glad to share ...

Testing... Testing... Testimony!!!

You ever recognize when the devil has been busy? That cotton-picken devil is a persistent one. The good thing about it, is that I am here to show you that he has No new tricks. That he will come for you in wools covering to destroy. You see, the devils goal is to derail you from what you already know the Lord has in store for you. I need for you to ask yourself one question though... Who sustains you? Who? Sustains YOU? Your being, your blessings, your everyday issues & situations? Who? If a first thought comes to your mind, and it is not our loving Jesus Christ, our Lord & Saviour, then I will certifiably tell you that you have a problem. You see, He (God that is) said in his word, "By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works" (Ephesians 2:8-9). This means that there will be Tests, Tests & more Tests. Gods everlasting grace & love will not be made easy by the devil. But d...
