Did You Pray First Though?

So, if you're anything like me, you may think that from time to time, you can handle things on your own. That you need to figure out what steps you'll take from A to Z... Then, you'll try to coordinate a backup plan to your back up plan. Does that sound like you, and/or do you know someone who's going through this stage?

I don't think it's abnormal... The stage I think of as being a hamster running on a wheel going NOWHERE! It's just not necessary to go through it. Meaning, you're just adding to your process, which will soon be your testimony, but not until HE handles it. Truth be told, it (whatever that specifically is for you) has been handled. He already worked it all out, down to the smallest detail that we're humanly unaware of.

What I've come to ask you is, when you were in that unnecessary stage of trying to manage your situation yourself, 'Did you pray first though?'. I bet you didn't. Or maybe you did that quick drive thru expectation of a prayer: 'okay Lord, I need this- this- this- & this, thank you and amen'. If you are familiar of these territories, then I bet you didn't pray first though. Again, not uncommon, just unnecessary!

My sisters & brothers in Christ, know that if you truly chase after Him, communicate with Him, be still & wait on Him... He'll surly step in and handle it from the beginning. Save yourself the sleepless nights, the dull headache symptom & negative lingering thoughts, and have faith in His abilities. Don't believe me... Well in Matthew 6:25-34 is reads as follows:

Do Not Worry
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]? 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

So, whenever you find yourself in that self-doubt stage, the state of confusion, or the not knowing stage, just say to yourself, ‘self, did you pray first though?’, and then respectfully step aside for Your Heavenly Father to live out His promise for you.
