Remember, They Are Only Pebbles!
So, I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only person who has wondered, 'why me'...
I'm thinking that I'm also not the only one to say, 'Lord if You do this and/or get me out of this, then I'll do more of this' (you know, bargain with God). Now, I'll go a step further & say, I'm also certain that I'm not the only one who thought, 'okay Lord, You said You wouldn't give me more than I can bare, yet I'm over here: struggling, hurting, ill equipped, unsure, crying, waiting, (fill in your word/feeling here)'.
The first time I saw the above image, I instantly felt thankful & horribly ungrateful all at the same time. I felt like what have I truly done to receive greater, when He constantly keeps me. Am I spending time with Him? Am I seeking His face? Am I walking right & exuding Christ-like mannerisms? Sadly, I couldn't answer yes to those questions for 100% of the time. So I studied the boulders in the picture, & even more the pebbles, and how they related to my life & that's when I felt Him say, "Shelita, I was ALWAYS there!"
Hebrews 13:5 shows me that before we were even thought of, He promised to be there! His words and/or promises are never void! They are real... You can lean on, in & around them! Because He said it, so I've had to learn to believe it!!
For the doubters, if you read Deuteronomy 31:6, it is reiterated that He's always with us & will always be with us, but take heed to the direction it gives, WHILE He's with us:
- Be strong & of good courage!
- Do Not fear or be afraid!
You're going to go through tough times, so that you can have a testimony! So trust, He will get the glory. Just remember, that the war wounds of what you may go through, were only caused by pebbles... He took care of the boulders when Jesus rose!
From your sister in Christ,
Shelita Prioleau
