Blessing Others... A Christ-Like Mannerism!

About a week or so ago, on my way to work… I saw a man standing near a fire, trying to get warm. I had never seen that in this particular area before, so not only was I bothered by it, but I felt bad for him. Well this morning, I saw that same man sitting out in the cold rocking back & forth... But this is not where my story begins.
Lately my husband & I have been praying for the Lord to show us how we can help others. Now, I'm not saying that we're 'ballin out' or anything like that. Just like many people, we're budgeting, couponing, clearance rack shopping, checking out Groupon for local fun escapes & even asking our selves "would Dave Ramsey say we could do this?" (lol)... But what we try to remember is that every little blessing God has given us, we need to pay it forward!
In Hebrews 13:16 ESV, it reads:
"Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God!"
Now, knowing that our prayer to God to clearly show us the opportunities where we can be a blessing, when I saw the man this morning, I immediately came up with the following excuses:
 
  • "I don’t have any cash on me..."
  • "No, I do have cash on me, but not enough..." (really Shelita, not enough, smh).
  • "I’ll be late to work, so I can’t..."
When I realized that I was making excuses (and to my greek fam, you know what excuses are), I immediately turned around & went back to where he was, however where I parked, I couldn’t really get to him. So I held the money up to show him, then laid it on the ground. As I walked back to my car I said, ‘I left that there for you’, and he replied, ‘yes ma’am’. 
Now, I never saw him walk to it, but I sure pray he went to get the money I left (it was all I had on me in cash). But it's not important, nor my business what happened after I pulled off, because either way, the Lord knows my heart & Will get the Glory!
So I challenge you today, to open not your eyes, but your heart... To helping where you can. Help doesn't always have to be monetarily expressed. Listening to the directives of the Holy Spirit in what you should do, will result in your obedience, and therefore display your Christ-Like mannerism!

Hold On... Tight!

Often times we're put in situations where we wonder, 'what in the world'! Like seriously, we feel like at one time things were moving swiftly, we were on it & things seemed to be headed in a right direction. Reminding me of a moving walkway in an airport... Helping you to get to your next gate in record time. Then, it's time to get off of that moving walkway, and you feel that gilt... Making what now seemed like gazelle-like speed, become a sudden stop, & back to normal pace. Mount Up!

Do you ever find yourself wondering, if it's not one thing, then it's another? Do you notice yourself having to rebuke the enemy left & right, then right & left? Are you drawing weary in faith & wondering why you're always dealing with a certain situation, and/or why it's taking God so long to show up & show out? Or, let me guess, the tricks of the enemy continue to gut punch you at the most inopportune times!?
