Catch Up! Before Getting Caught Up.
Often times we get so 'caught up' in the hustle & bustle of life, we may: forget to call and/or text someone back, we say we'll schedule a lunch and/or dinner date & then week's go by... We may even tell our self, 'self, we're going to go somewhere or do something relaxing, because life has gotten so busy'. I don't have enough hands & fingers to count how many times I've done any of the above. I always had good intentions, but the follow-thru wasn't there.
Okay, let me take it one step further, and you (yes, you) may not like it. Have you ever gotten 'caught up' in either of the following situations:
- Saying, 'I need to dwell in the presence of my Heavenly Father more', but don't?
- Have you thought to yourself, Lord I'm going to praise You... Right after I tell so and so about what You did for me & then Snapchat, Instagram & Facebook it, so it's real!?
- Have you genuinely forgotten to communicate with the Lord first? OR before the blessing? OR even in the rough walks in life? Because you had to talk to someone else first?
So I'll keep it real... I've been there too. And with no ill will intent in the moment. I just simply got 'caught up' in the worldly & human supplied confirmations that I was in the midst of a victory... Or that I was negative & I had a negative circle that unfortunately help fuel me with what would prolong my rough walk(s).
We've got to try & make it a point to stop getting 'caught up'... And get on track to 'Catch Up' on time with the Lord! Start going to Him first! Getting confirmation from Him first! Praising with Him first! Making Him First!
In case you don't believe me, that His presence is where we need to always dwell, take refuge in & abide by, check this out:
The word says in Psalm 95:2 - Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving. Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms!
There is also reference in Psalm 9:3 - When my enemies turn back, they shall fall & perish at Your presence.
So again, before you get 'caught up' in how quickly things may be moving around you, start making it a daily initiative to 'Catch Up' with the Lord. I can assure you, the Lord will allow the right people to walk up to you that could further bless that situation of praise, & you'll both be shouting in worship to the Lord!
T.D. Jakes said it best... "You have to dwell with the Lord, because that's where He weeds out the saints from the aints"!
